A 15-year-old school girl was gagged and stabbed by a stalker. The girl said that about a fortnight ago she went to the Manvelpada police chowkie to complain against the youth, who was stalking her, but was turned away.

Woman stabbed 35 times and murdered by two #Stalkers in Delhi’s #AnandParbat

19 year old Lakahmi who was shopping with her mother in Delhi’s Anand Parbat area, was attacked and stabbed 35 times by two men who had been stalking her for months. The police had refused to file a case against the men when she reported them. Bystanders did not intervene, and some say the men’s mother was egging them on.

Man attacks girlfriend with a knife for breaking up

A 21-year-old man, S. Sugumar was arrested on charges of attempting to murder his girlfriend, I. Kajol, after she broke up with him. The couple were cousins and the woman was under pressure from her parents to end the relationship.

S Sugumar, is a BSc.Ed graduate at a private college and cousin I Kajol, 19, is a second year computer science student at a private engineering college. The couple met after classes on Tuesday evening, and soon entered into a quarrel. The accused flew into a fit of rage and attacked her with a knife.

Young Delhi lawyer fought off #stalker who tried to #rape her

30 May 2015, New Delhi

He used to stalk the 25 year old lawyer who lives alone, on her way to and from work. On Friday, he told cops that he decided to rape her as she did not appear to have noticed him. Around 9.30pm on Thursday, he entered the woman’s flat from an adjacent house and entered her bedroom unseen. The 25-year-old didn’t hear him as she had headphones on and was caught unawares as he hit her with the iron rod. As she appeared to collapse, Kumar pinned her down and tore off her clothes but the woman came to and kicked him, forcing him down. As she continued to kick him and raise alarm, Kumar panicked and escaped. He was later identified by his photo and has been arrested.

College student survives sickle attack by Stalker -Times of India

An engineering student who was being stalked and sexually harassed by another student, was attacked by him with a sickle. She survived the attack, though her attacker died after consuming poison. The newspaper link below reports this as the crime of  “jilted lover,” which unfortunately is still the language used for stalking and sexual harassment in India, and needs to change fast!

17-year-old girl burnt alive by her stalker

A 17 year old girl from the Dalit community was doused with kerosene and set on fire by a neighbor who had been stalking her. The girl’s family was aware of the stalker and had tried to warn him off. When a bill against stalking and sexual harassment was being discussed in the Indian Parliament, the chief minister of this state, Uttar  Pradesh, did not support it, saying this was fun that all boys/men engaged in.
