Most Dowry Violence and Murders Among the Wealthiest in Chennai

Police records in the city of Chennai, in Southern India, show a pattern of dowry violence and murders similar to that in the nothern cities like Delhi.  The most number of cases of dowry violence and murders are in the most affluent neighborhoods.  Police records show that there were 97 dowry harassment and violence cases and 10 dowry deaths (murders) in the past five months in the south zone of Chennai, which has posh neighborhoods like T Nagar, Vadapalani, Guindy, Adyar, Ashok Nagar and Thuraipakkam.   Report here
