An Odisha Forest Service (OFS) officer on Monday filed a fresh petition at the State Commission for Women (SCW), alleging police inaction into her complaint against her estranged husband, who is an Odisha Administrative Officer (OAS). She also said that the SCW had failed to act on her earlier complaint. Report here

The additional District and Session’s Judge Sunil Kumar, handed life imprisonment to Sunita Kumar’s husband, mother, sister and brother, holding them guilty of murdering Sunita eight years ago in a dowry related case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on each of the convicts. The report here.
